Super Cool Coverage

If it doesn’t fit, it comes back.

You’re cutting a hole in a live enclosure on someone else’s schedule. The least we can do is make the decision reversible. Thirty days from delivery, no restocking fee, and a fit guarantee that means what it says.

And here is exactly what it says. Every model page states its own fit before you buy — drop-in, adapter plate, or cabinet modification. That statement is the spec, and doing the work it describes isn’t a reason to send a unit back. What we guarantee is that the statement is right. If the job turns out materially bigger than we told you, it comes back.

Returns, in four lines

No conditions to buy into and no tier to qualify for. This is how every VoltAire unit we sell is covered.

30 days from delivery

The clock starts when the unit lands on your dock, not when you ordered it. Built-to-order units take four to six weeks to make — none of that counts against you.

No restocking fee

Not reduced, not waived as a favor. There isn’t one.

Keep the box, or don’t

Original packaging is nice. It is not required. We would rather have the unit back than have you fight with a carton you threw out five weeks ago.

We book the freight

You don’t have to find a carrier or figure out class codes. We arrange it. The cost comes out of your refund — see below, we’d rather you hear it from us now.

The fit guarantee

This is the part that matters on a replacement, and the part most suppliers leave vague. Ours has four steps and you are one of them.

01

We build to bolt straight in

VoltAire designed this line as direct, bolt-for-bolt replacements for units already in the field. That is the engineering intent, not a marketing line — same footprint, same cutout, same mounting pattern wherever the original allows it.

02

We show you the fit before you buy

The fit comparison on every replacement page draws your existing cutout against the VoltAire unit to scale — openings, mounting holes, the lot. Where we have not verified a cutout ourselves, the page says so instead of guessing.

03

You measure your actual unit

This part is on you, and it matters. Manufacturers ship one-off builds, special orders, and quiet mid-life revisions that never make the catalog. We cannot see those from here. Measure the enclosure in front of you before anything gets cut.

04

If the job is bigger than we said, send it back

Do the work your model’s page describes and you have done the job — that part is the spec, and it is your labor. What we stand behind is the size of it. Go in expecting an adapter plate and find you need the cabinet cut, or expect a small modification and find it is a rebuild, and that is our error, not your problem. The unit comes back.

What counts, and what doesn’t

Better to disagree about this now, on a page, than later on the phone with a unit already out of the wall.

Send it back

  • The swap needs materially more work than your model’s page described.
  • The cutout or mounting pattern doesn’t match what we published for your model.
  • It won’t mount even with the adapter plate that was included in the price.
  • We told you it was a drop-in and it wasn’t.

That’s the job, not a fault

  • · The adapter plate or cabinet modification your model’s page called out before you ordered — that’s the stated spec, and it’s your labor.
  • · A cabinet that turned out to be a one-off or a revised build, when you didn’t check it against the dimensions we published.
  • · Ordering a model the cross-reference didn’t match to your unit.
  • · Changing your mind after cutting the enclosure — we can’t take back a unit that’s been installed and removed if nothing was wrong with it.

And if you’re somewhere between the two columns, call us. We would rather sort it out with you than win an argument about a $400 adapter plate.

Two things that come out of your refund

We would rather you read these here than discover them on a credit memo. Both are freight, and both are avoidable.

Return shipping

We arrange the carrier and the paperwork, because we can get a better rate and a better class than a one-off booking will. The freight itself is yours, deducted from the refund. You will know the number before the truck is booked.

Shipping it back on the wrong pallet

Nobody is going to fight you over a pallet. But the pallets we build are custom-cut to hit the best freight density class for these cabinets, which is a real part of why the shipping is cheap. Send a unit back on a generic 48×48 and the class goes up, the freight goes up, and the difference comes out of the refund. Keep the pallet it arrived on and neither of us pays for that.

Cancelling an order

This one runs backwards from what most people expect, so it is worth reading twice.

Built to order — yes

A custom configuration hasn’t been built yet, so there is room to stop it. Call us and we will pull it off the schedule.

In stock — usually not

Stock units ship fast, which is the whole point of holding stock. Once it is on a truck we cannot recall it. At that point it becomes a return, which is covered above and costs you the freight.

Super Cool Coverage

Every unit carries VoltAire’s manufacturer warranty. Super Cool Coverage adds a full year on top of it.

Coverage is parts, not labor. That is deliberate, and it is about who we sell to: you are a controls contractor, a panel shop, a plant electrician. You were always going to hang this unit yourself. Paying us to send someone to do work you do better and faster would be a strange thing to build into the price of every unit on the site.

So we put the money where it helps — a longer parts warranty, no restocking fee, and a return window that survives a job running late.

Starting a return

Call or email with your quote or order number. There is no form to fill in, no ticket queue, and no one is going to ask you why. We will confirm the freight cost, book the carrier, and tell you what the refund looks like before anything moves. Once the unit is back with us you can take it as a refund to the original payment method, a check, an exchange, or a merchandise credit — your call.
